Game Nineteen: Storm @ Monarchs 9 July, 2008

I was trying to help the neighborhood kids raise the basketball hoop in front of our house at the start of the game. I left the room with the radio while Sacramenton had started the game with their usual pesky defense thinking it was going to be a long game. Just a couple of minutes later I returned to hear Dick Fain saying that the Storm were leading 12-6 and the Monarchs were taking a timeout. After that the Storm never looked back.

It was really nice to sit back and enjoy a solid road win, we don't get many chances to do that with the Storm. The telling stat for me at halftime was that the Monarchs did not have a single offensive rebound. This is one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the league in any give year and they were simply shut out on the boards.
